Expand Your Stash ’07
Well, here you have it – the start of the very first Expand Your Stash! The goal of this “knit along” is to give every knitter the guilt-free pleasure of adding wonderful, scrumptious yarns to his or her stash. You need not have a pattern in mind or a purpose for the yarn to make that purchase. You’ll use it one day. After all, if you are ever to participate in a “Knit from Your Stash,” you need a stash that will last you those many months!
Go forth and buy, make, or trade; beg, borrow, or steal all the yarn of your dreams!!!
All you have to do to participate is acquire yarn and blog about it!
Spread the word and let’s go shopping.
Count me in! Hey, can I borrow a few bucks?

Wow, this is the anti-stash reduction! I can participate. I bought sock yarn this past weekend and was trying to “justify” the purchase to myself. Can we include books in this?

Yesterday I was able to participate in Expand Your Stash ’07 while still not breaking any Knit From Your Stash rules. I came home from my LYS with 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces sock yarn (Daffodil) and a skein of Cherry Tree Hill supersock in Life’s A Beach. The best part was that I didn’t spend a dime; I had exactly that amount in store credit! Oh, there was also that skein of Malabrigo I bought a week ago. I guess I have broken a stash rule or two this year.

I’ve been trying to use up stash – I’ve been only knitting from stash for a long time – but my stash seems to miraculously replenish itself! I’m unofficially in – since I’m in the Yarn Focus Challenge I can buy yarn once a month, so I’ll go crazy when I do! (And instigate others to buy me yarn as well, which doesn’t count in the “knit from your stash” KALs!

I should really join this. I’ve been expanding my stash by leaps and bounds this year. I’m almost embarrased to post so much new yarn. My husband reads my blog sometimes and I’d hate to have to explain why I need more sock yarn one more time!

I’m in! I just went and copied about 30 patterns (so I don’t have to mark up my books) and I need to buy yarn to make them! The bookcase full of yarn just isn’t enough, not the right color… or feel… or something. :D

Thanks for this! You can also take pride in the fact that you are supporting your LYSs, most of whom are dedicated-but-struggling small business owners, and would not be there if EVERYONE knit only from their stash. Think of the CHILDREN!! :(
